Exploring the Inner Landscape

Without being aware if it, I have been exploring the Inner Landscape all my life My passion for being creative began as a child lying on my back looking at the night sky and imagining I was expanding into the infinite space of the universe. Completely unaware of what that experience was about, I could lie like that for hours and imagine all kinds of beautiful and interesting worlds. Making art didn’t happen until much later when I discovered how much I liked making things and, I found I could best express myself through ceramic sculpture and drawing.

The images and writings in here do not include any of my earlier work, but instead come from the beginning of my investigations of light. These images are part of my journey of self discovery. They are my dreams, visions, and interpretations’ of experiences I have had, or read about. They come from my love of nature, meditations and contemplations that ask; who am I, why am I here and what is my life’s purpose? I found that working on black paper using Prismacolor pencils I was able to build layers of color that resulted in images that were full of light. While many artists have used this technique, I have discovered that this is perfect for telling my stories and showing that everything and everyone is a being of light. Art making for me involves going within and touching that universal space I discovered as a child.

Here is a small sampling of some of my work. You can see more at Visual Illuminations
